Hii my beauties!!
This week we will start talking about mindful living.
I’ve asked some of you guys, on Instagram, what you think mindful living is, and all of you who answered were correct because there are no wrong answers to this question. Everything that gives your soul some peace is considered mindful living.
Generally speaking, mindful living is being present
in the moment and living in a way that
won’t harm/hurt others.
So today I am going to share what I consider to be mindful living and why it is so important to me.
For me, besides the general definition, mindful living is all about:
- Being AWARE OF YOURSELF and your surroundings;
- Being AWARE OF YOUR URGES and to know that we DON’T NEED TO ACT/SATISFY all of them;
- Being ACCEPTING OF THE REALITY and being GRATEFUL about it;
- Learning to LET GO of things we cannot control; and most importantly
- Being COMPASSIONATE.
These are the 5 main ideals that I try to live by. This didn’t come to me overnight, this came with life experience and mistakes, like I said in my previous post, we learn some great lessons from our mistakes.
Why is mindful living so important to me, especially right now?
We live in an era of fast and unlimited everything, fast replies, fast food, unlimited options, everything is so fast that we have forgotten to have patience and enjoy what we already have.
We have stopped living in the moment and are constantly thinking about the next thing, even before the first has ended. That results in anxiety and never being fully satisfied with anything in life.
So, because of all this I want to show why living and enjoying every single moment is important and necessary. I want to show that your happiness is not in things, you cannot just buy it with a bag or any other thing. Happiness comes from within and with inner peace. I know, I know this is a cliché but it is true, SO TRUE and I’ve learned it the hard way, but I don’t want you guys to.
Here are some of the main benefits that I saw of living mindully, amongst others of course:
- Emotional Inteligence improved;
- More self-control; and
- Mental Clarity.
That being said, I am myself am not perfect, sometimes I get carried away, sometimes I don’t live in the moment, sometimes I fail in these things and that is also okai, as long as we acknowledge it and REALLY try to do and be better.
So, these are my initial thoughts on this subject, just to tickle your brain a bit. This was a mere introduction into this world of mindful living and to explain why this subject is so close to my heart. This subject cannot be covered in one post, this is going to be a journey, little by little, post by post because this is not a to do list, this is a lifestyle.
I hope you guys are as excited as I am to embarque in this journey with me.
