Hii my beauties ๐Ÿ’‹ ๐Ÿ’‹ !!

Believe it or not, brushes does influence how your makeup goes on, how it performs and lasts. So knowing what is the right tool for the foundation formula you will be using, is very important. And today is all about how to choose that right tool.

[ Just before I start I want to put a DISCLAIMER out there,have oily to combination skin, so what works forskin type might not work for yours,just have that in mind! ]

Letโ€™s start by listing the foundation formulas. Foundation can come in the following formulas:

  • Liquid;
  • Cream;
  • Stick;
  • Powder;
  • Mousse;
  • Spray;
  • (and maybe even more)โ€ฆ..

And the recommended brushes for foundations are:

  • Flat brush;
  • Fluffy powder brush;
  • Beauty sponge;
  • Oval brush;
  • Flat top kabuki brush;
  • Buffing brush;
  • Stippling brush;
  • (and maybe even more)โ€ฆ..

But on todayโ€™s post I will focus on the makeup brushes and formulas that are most common and I have tried. I will be comparing the flat brush, powder brush, beauty sponge, oval brush and flat top kabuki brushโ€™s performances on the liquid, cream, stick and powder formulas, and which one I recommend and donโ€™t.

Iโ€™ve put all the information in an easy to read table, in which you can check what brush works best with which foundation type and few notes about my experience with them.

NOTES:1 I have to mention that, for me, the stick formula has not worked with the beauty sponge. Iโ€™ve tried quite a times but it always ends up looking cakey and a bit powdery, especially around the nose. But I have seen it work for other people.

2 I personally donโ€™t like this makeup brush, and donโ€™t reach for it that often. This brush type can leave the foundation looking streaky sometimes.
